Patrick van Riemsdijk (b. 1986, Utrecht) is a Dutch artist whose abstract paintings explore the relationship between intuition, emotion and material. Raised in a family of artists, his approach developed around the belief that making should emerge through feeling rather than fixed intention.
His works evolve through successive layers of colour, texture and experimentation. Silence, patience and observation are central to this process, allowing each painting to develop without a predetermined outcome. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics and simplicity, Van Riemsdijk transforms personal experiences into compositions that remain open to interpretation.
